Jewish Hebrew Deception through Christianity (by Purvis)

Today's Christian leaders push Hebrew and Greek while disregarding Aramaic in order to promote Jewish Hebrew Deception.

Talmud discourages learning Aramaic (aka Syriac) while it encourages Hebrew, Greek, and Persian.

Baba Kamma 82b-83a - Was it not taught that Rabbi stated: 'Why use the Syriac language in Eretz Yisrael [where] either the Holy Tongue or the GREEK LANGUAGE [could be employed]? And R. Jose said: Why use the Aramaic language in Babylon [where] the Holy Tongue or the Persian language [could be used]?

Many pastors are trying to make Christianity a Jewish vehicle. Doug Hamp, Nehemiah Gordon, John Hagee, Frank Luke etc. are great examples. Promoting Hebrew is part of their plan.

Rabbi Martin Siegel mentions the jewish plan to make the society jewish by using Christianity.
Rabbi Martin Siegel: "I am devoting my lecture in this seminar to a discussion of the possibility that we are now entering a Jewish century, a time when the spirit of the community, the non-idealogical blend of the emotional and rational and the resistance to categories and forms will emerge through the forces of anti-nationalism to provide us with a new kind of society. I call this process the Judaization of Christianity because Christianity will be the vehicle through which this society becomes Jewish" (Source -  New York Magazine, January 18, 1972, p. 32).

But I want to focus on a particular article published by an associate pastor named Frank Luke (from knoxville, Iowa) who promotes Jewish Hebrew Propaganda in order to deceive innocent Christians.

He published an article named "Mishnaic Hebrew as a common person's language in the Land" in first century Israel which can be read here - http://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/8456/what-language-did-jesus-speak

The first thing that must be noted is most of the information that he uses are Jewish sources such as mentioning Mishnah (later became Talmud), the information from Talmud, etc. He uses some information from Bible, and from Josephus and twist them to fit into his deceptive Hebrew agenda.

Let me give you the deception behind this article.

1) Title itself - "Mishnaic Hebrew as a common person's language in the Land."

In Acts 1:19, Field of Blood was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem in their own language as Akeldama which is the transliteration of Aramaic words "Haqal Dama" (Book "What do Jewish People think about Jesus?" by Dr. Michael Brown, Page 39).

Aramaic word "Haqal" means Field. There is no word called Akel or Haqal for field in Hebrew. There is no indication of a single person speaking Hebrew at Jerusalem. If there was any possibility of Hebrew being spoken, then it should have started with Jerusalem since Jerusalem is the holy city.

Another point that must be noted is there was no Hebrew Mishnah (later became Talmud) in first century Israel. It was in Aramaic form called Traditions of the Elders (Mashlmanwatha da Qashishe in Aramaic). This can be read in Aramaic New testament known as Aramaic Peshitta (Mark 7, Matthew 15). Here is link to Mark 7 in Aramaic NT with English translation - https://archive.org/download/GospelOfMatthewPaulYounansInterlinearTranslation/Gospel%20of%20Mark%20%28Paul%20Younans%20Interlinear%20Translation%29.pdf

Jesus Christ severely criticized the Pharisees and the scribes for obeying Traditions of the Elders which nullified the word of God (Matthew 15, Mark 7).

This is also agreed by Jewish society.

Rabbi Michael Rodkinson - "The Talmud, then, is the written form of that which, in the time of Jesus, was called the Traditions of the Elders, and to which he makes frequent allusions."  (Book "New Edition of the Babylonian Talmud - Volume 10", Page 70 & Book "The History of Talmud", Volume 2, Page 70)

Josephus (who belonged to the sect of Pharisees- "The Life of Flavius Josephus", Paragraph 2)
calls Traditions of the Elders as "Traditions of our forefathers."

Josephus - "What I would now explain is this, that the Pharisees have delivered to the people a great many observances by succession from their fathers, which are not written in the laws of Moses; and for that reason it is that the Sadducees reject them, and say that we are to esteem those observances to be obligatory which are in the written word, but are not to observe what are derived from the tradition of our forefathers." (in his Antiquities Book XIII.X.VI).

2) The deception of the term "Hebrew" in his article.

a) Frank Luke uses the below information deceptively for promoting Hebrew.

Josephus in Antiquities 10 1.2 says this: "When Rabshakeh had made this speech in the Hebrew tongue, for he was skillful in that language, Eliakim was afraid lest the multitude that heard him should be disturbed; so he desired him to speak in the Syrian tongue."
Frank Luke - Josephus clearly draws a line between Ebraios and Suristi.

But what Frank Luke doesn't tell is this above incident happened many years prior to the destruction of first temple of Jerusalem and Babylonian captivity. At that time, Old Hebrew was the language of Hebrews in Judah.

Aramaic replaced Old Hebrew as the language of Hebrews during Babylonian Captivity.

In the Bible, the above mentioned incident happened in 2 Kings Chapter 18. The destruction of first temple of Jerusalem and Babylonian captivity happened in 2 Kings 25.

Frank Luke - Josephus also refers to words that exist in Hebrew but not Aramaic as Ebraion. For example, in *Antiquities of the Jews* I 33, he states:
For which reason we also pass this day in repose from toil and call it the Sabbata, a word which in the Hebrew language means "rest."

What he hides is Hebrew Priest Josephus differentiates Hebrew from his language and the language of his country which is Aramaic. Hebrew Priest Josephus calls Hebrew as "Hebrew tongue" while he calls Aramaic as "our tongue" or "our language" or "the language of our country."

Here is an example of Aramaic.

Josephus' Antiquities - Now the Hebrews call this food manna; for the particle man, in our language, is the asking of a question, What is this?

H.St.J. Thackeray (who translated Josephus' Judean wars from Greek into English) also point out this - "We learn from the proem that the Greek text was not the first draft of the work. It had been preceded by a narrative written in Aramaic and addressed to "the barbarians in the interior", who are more precisely defined lower down as the natives of Parthia, Babylonia, and Arabia, the Jewish dispersion in Mesopotamia, and the inhabitants of Adiabene, a principality of which the reigning house, as was proudly remembered, were converts to Judaism (B. i, 3, 6). Of this Aramaic work the Greek is described as a "version" made for the benefit of the subjects of the Roman Empire, i.e. the Graeco-Roman world at large

In his Judean Wars (Book 1, Preface, Paragraph 1 - 2), Josephus points out that what he wrote in the language of his country was accurately understood by Parthians, Babylonians, and the remotest Arabians, and those of his nation beyond Euphrates, with the Adiabeni.

This can only be Aramaic, because Aramaic was spoken by Parthians and Babylonians. Parthians and Babylonians didn't speak Hebrew.

A copy of Josephus's Judean Wars Book Six in Aramaic survives in Book "Ceriani Veteris Testamentum" and it shows that surviving Greek versions of Josephus' Judean Wars is not written by Josephus due to constant contradictions, mistranslations, and other errors.
All of these information can be read here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Josephus%27_Judean_Wars

It is also acknowledged that there were also some script tamperings in Josephus' Antiquities of Judeans as well. This link contains some examples.

https://right.orain.org/wiki/Josephus

Unlike Hebrew Priest Josephus and other Hebrew Priests at Jerusalem, the people of first century Israel had no knowledge of Hebrew.

That is why whenever the apostles say Hebrew in New Testament, the word comes up is Aramaic.

Here is an example.

John 19:13 (KJV) - "When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha."

Note - Gabbatha is transliteration of Aramaic word "Gpiptha." "tha" in transliterated word "Gabbatha" and "Gpiptha" is Aramaic definite article on a feminine noun in an emphatic state (Book "Introduction to Syriac" by Wheeler Thackston, Page 44).

Unlike Aramaic, Hebrew definite article ("Ha") is always at the beginning of the word. For example, the famous Israeli newspaper "Haaretz."

Aramaic word "Gpiptha" was the word commonly used by Hebrews in Judea & Idumea while Hebrews and Arameans in Galilee, Lebanon, Syria, and Northern regions commonly used the Aramaic word "Rtsiptha."  (http://www.peshitta.org/pdf/Yukhnch19.pdf)

This can be seen in English as well. Tapioca in England is usually called Yuca (sometimes "cassava") in America.

More infos about mistransliteration in Greek can be read here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Script_tampering_and_Mistransliteration_in_Greek_NT

In New Testament, whenever the apostles say about "being written in Hebrew" (John 19:20), they are referring to Aramaic written in the script (Dead Sea scrolls script) used in Judea and in Idumea at that time.

In first century Israel, Aramaic written in Estrangela Script was called Aramaic (called Syriac by Greeks since Greeks called Arameans or Aramites as "Syrians") which was used in Galilee, Lebanon, Syria, and Northern regions.

Whenever the apostles say speaking in Hebrew (John 19:17, John 20:16, Acts 22:2), they are referring to either Aramaic accent used in Judea and Idumea or few certain Aramaic words commonly used among Hebrews living in Judea and in Idumea.

When Letter of Aristeas says Hebrew, the letter is referring to Aramaic written in the script (Dead Sea Scrolls script) used in Judea and In Idumea while Syriac mentioned in Letter of Aristeas is referring to Aramaic written in the script (Estrangela) used by Hebrews and Arameans in Galilee, Lebanon, Syria, and Northern regions.

Frank Luke deceptively claims how 1 Maccabees is written in Hebrew. But there are no known versions of 1 Maccabees in Hebrew. Only in Aramaic and in Greek.

The information about Aramaic version of 1 Maccabees is available here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/1_maccabees

Even Greek version of 1 Maccabees clearly points out that the language of Maccabean period was Aramaic.

In 1 Maccabees 12:37 (Septuagint) - "Upon this they came together to build up the city, forasmuch as part of the wall toward the brook on the east side was fallen down, and they repaired that which was called Caphenatha".

Caphenatha in Septuagint is a transliteration of an Aramaic word, because "tha" in "Caphenatha" is Aramaic definite article on a feminine noun in an emphatic state (Book "Introduction to Syriac" by Wheeler Thackston, Page 44)

Another thing Frank Luke doesn't tell is New testament is written in Aramaic. Not Greek or Hebrew. He promotes the corrupt Greek New Testament. Josephus points out that his nation did not encourage the learning of Greek and Hebrews knowing Greek was extremely rare in first century AD (Antiquities of Judeans XX XI, Antiquities Book 1, Preface, Paragraph 2).

This is agreed by Surviving Judean Wars Book Six (Aramaic version) where Titus' words were interpreted through Josephus in Judean Wars Book Six Chapter 2, Paragraph 4.

This is also agreed by Dead Sea Scrolls Archaelogist Yigael Yadin who points out that the lingua franca of the time period was Aramaic (Yadin's Book "Bar Kokhba: The rediscovery of the legendary hero of the last Jewish Revolt Against Imperial Rome" Page 234).

In the bible and Josephus' works, Judean(s) is miswritten as Jew(s).  It must be noted that Judaism only began in 500 AD with the completion of Babylonian Talmud. This is approved by Jewish rabbis.

 3) Frank Luke - The Son Cometh.

Josephus (War 5:269-272) points out that Jewish soldiers used a play on words that only makes sense in Hebrew. In 272, whenever a stone was on its way (being thrown from ballistea), the watchmen would shout "in their native language, 'The Son Cometh!'" While translators are confused by the Greek text, the answer makes sense in Hebrew. The translator even admits how the words could be confused in Hebrew but not Aramaic. The watchmen would have shouted, in Hebrew, Ha-even ba’ah ("the stone is coming!"). However, because of urgency, the words would be clipped to ben ba ("son comes!").

Let's look at the passage written in Judean Wars from surviving translated Greek versions.

Judean Wars 5:6:3 (Translation by Whiston) - "Now the stones that were cast were of the weight of a talent, and were carried two furlongs and further. The blow they gave was no way to be sustained, not only by those that stood first in the way, but by those that were beyond them for a great space. As for the Jews, they at first watched the coming of the stone, for it was of a white color, and could therefore not only be perceived by the great noise it made, but could be seen also before it came by its brightness; accordingly the watchmen that sat upon the towers gave them notice when the engine was let go, and the stone came from it, and cried out aloud, in their own country language, THE SON COMETH so those that were in its way stood off, and threw themselves down upon the ground; by which means, and by their thus guarding themselves, the stone fell down and did them no harm."

Nowhere in the passage mentions anything about making soldiers making "a play on words."

Frank Luke makes more deceptive claims in his post above.

His claim - "The watchmen would have shouted, in Hebrew, Ha-even ba’ah ("the stone is coming!"). However, because of urgency, the words would be clipped to ben ba ("son comes!").

Notice how he says "Ha-even" referring to the stone. Notice the Hebrew definite article "Ha" in "Ha-even."
But as mentioned above, Aramaic words with Aramaic definite article ("tha") on a feminine noun comes up when the apostles mentions Hebrew in New Testament. Not with Hebrew definite article "Ha."

He claims the words because of urgency, the words would be clipped to ben ba ("son comes!").

This contradicts with New Testament.

Aramaic word Bar means son (Book "Introduction to Syriac" Page. 197).

But Aramaic word "Bar" was used in New Testament and can be seen in several names. Not Hebrew word "Ben."

Here are examples - "Bar"tholomew, "Bar"abbas, "Bar"nabbas, "Bar"Timaeus, Simon "Bar" Jonah, "Bar" Jesus, and "Bar"sabbas.

Not a single name with Hebrew word "Ben" in New Testament.

Let's look into the context of the passage and how it makes sense in Aramaic.

Aramaic word "Bar" means Son. It must be noted that the color of the stone (mentioned above) was in '''white color''' and it weighed '''a talent'''..

As mentioned above, Josephus describes '''white stones''' (weight of a talent) coming from Roman catapults down on the Judeans in Jerusalem and '''these white stones''' could be seen also before it came by '''its brightness.'''

Aramaic word "Barda" means hail (Book "A Compendious Syriac Dictionary", Page 55) and it is similar to Aramaic word "Bar" which means Son as mentioned above.

"Barda etha" means "The hail cometh.". It is highly possible that Greek scribes may have misread "Barda etha" as "Bar da etha." "Bar da etha" means "The Son Who Cometh" which can also be written as "The Son Cometh" since it is not in a complete sentence.

So when the watchmen in Jerusalem saw '''white stones''' coming from Roman catapults, they probably said "The Hail Cometh" in Aramaic due to the color of the stones ("White") which was misread and mistranslated by Greek scribes as "The Son Cometh."

As mentioned above, Josephus' Judean Wars is filled with mistranslations, tamperings, errors, etc. This is confirmed through Josephus' Judean Wars Book Six Aramaic version which can be read here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Josephus%27_Judean_Wars

In Revelation 16:21, it is also interesting to note how '''hailstones''' weighing about '''a talent''' fell upon the children of men (http://biblehub.com/aramaic-plain-english/revelation/16.htm)

4) Dead Sea Scrolls Deception

Frank Luke uses Dead Sea Scrolls as part of his deception to promote Hebrew Agenda.

According to Dead Sea Scrolls archaeologist, Yigael Yadin, Aramaic was the language of Hebrews until Simon Bar Kokhba tried to revive Hebrew and make it as the official language of Hebrews during Bar Kokhba revolt (132-135 AD). Yigael Yadin noticed the shift from Aramaic to Hebrew during the time of Bar Kokhba revolt. In Book "Bar Kokhba: The rediscovery of the legendary hero of the last Jewish Revolt Against Imperial Rome" Yigael Yadin notes, "It is interesting that the earlier documents are written in Aramaic while the later ones are in Hebrew. Possibly the change was made by a special decree of Bar-Kokhba who wanted to restore Hebrew as the official language of the state"(page 181).

In Book "A Roadmap to the Heavens: An Anthropological Study of Hegemony among Priests, Sages, and Laymen (Judaism and Jewish Life)" by Sigalit Ben-Zion (Page 155), Yadin remarked: "it seems that this change came as a result of the order that was given by Bar Kokhba, who wanted to revive the Hebrew language and make it the official language of the state."

According to Book "Naming the Witch: Magic, Ideology, and Stereotype in the Ancient World" written by Kimberly B. Stratton (p. 232), Yadin suggests that Bar Kokhba was trying to revive Hebrew by decree as part of his messianic ideology.

Talmud discourages the learning of Aramaic while it encourages Hebrew, Greek, and Persian.

Dead Sea Scrolls Archaeologist Yigael Yadin also pointed out the anger of Israeli Prime Minister Ben Gurion when Ben Gurion found out that Bar Kokhba letters being written in Aramaic.

Yadin says on page 124 of his book "Bar Kokhba: The rediscovery of the legendary hero of the last Jewish Revolt Against Imperial Rome."

"The first thing that struck us was that for no apparent reason some of the letters were written in Aramaic and some in Hebrew. Jews at that period were versed in both languages, yet since most of the letters were in Aramaic, possibly Hebrew had just lately been revived by a Bar-Kokhba decree. I remembered that when I showed the letters to Mr. Ben-Gurion, then the Prime Minister, only the Aramaic documents had yet been opened. "Why did they write in Aramaic and not Hebrew?" was his immediate angry reaction, as if the scribes had been members of his staff."

Yigael Yadin also mentions that 3 Bar Kokhba documents he and his team found at Nahal Hever are written in Mishnaic Hebrew (The Biblical Archaeologist, Vol. 24, No. 3 (Sep., 1961), Pg. 93).

Mishnaic Hebrew had massive influences from Aramaic and some influences from Greek as well.

For Example, Hebrew scholar David Steinberg points out that Mishnaic Hebrew had the profound influence of spoken Aramaic in vocabulary, semantics, and grammar including inflection; and the lesser influence of Greek (http://www.adath-shalom.ca/history_of_hebrew.htm#mishheb).

More infos about Bar Kokhba letters can be read here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Bar_Kokhba_revolt

Recently, there was a conversation between Netanyahu and Pope Francis about the language of Jesus Christ. Here is the video - https://archive.org/details/LanguageOfJesusChristByPopeFrancisAndNetanyahu

Netanyahu deceptively said Jesus spoke Hebrew. He doesn't mention Aramaic at all. Pope Francis immediately corrects him by pointing out that Jesus Christ spoke Aramaic.

But Netanyahu goes on to claim that Jesus spoke Aramaic, but he knew Hebrew.

But as mentioned above, Jesus Christ's disciples had no knowledge of Hebrew.

Here is the link to the problems of Dead Sea Scrolls - https://archive.org/details/ProblemsWithDeadSeaScrolls

5) Coins

Frank Luke uses so called coins to claim that Hebrew was spoken. But the problem is these coins are minted in Paleo-Hebrew.

But the written script that was used in Judea and in Idumea was Dead Sea Scrolls script.

Some scholars believe that these coins were minted in Hebrew only to represent Hebrew nationality. Herodian Dynasty coins are filled with Greek, because Herodian Dynasty was under Roman Empire. Greek and Latin represented as the language of Roman Empire. That is why Roman governor Pilate wrote the inscription on the cross in three language - Aramaic, Greek, and Latin (John 19).

Aside from above mentioned points, other scholars also believe that these coins may have been minted in later centuries. They also believe that these coins can also be fake.

It must be noted that Jewish virtual library website (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/FirstRevolt.html) that promotes these so called Judean Roman War coins minted in Hebrew is also the same website that promotes the fictional Holohoax (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/holo.html).

Problems with Judean Roman War Coins are mentioned here - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Judean_Roman_war_coins

Another point that must be noted is ancient israelites had a history of altering the coins. For Example, Many of the coins of False Messiah Bar Kokhba were being restruck over Roman coins (Book "Digging Through the Bible: Modern Archaeology and the Ancient Bible", by Richard A. Freund, Page 329).

Information about Hasmonean coinage and Masada can be read in the below links.

6)Deception of Hebrew OT

Frank Luke - "From the return from Exile onward, there was a concerted effort to restore Hebrew as the national language. It had been lost among most of the people during the Exile. Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi are all written exclusively in Hebrew (Ezra has a few Aramaic sections, but these are correspondence with a foreign King). Daniel's middle section is in flawless, Imperial Aramaic (from 2:4a to the end of ch 7), but the rest of the book is in Biblical Hebrew (and it's good Hebrew). Those middle sections needed to be in Aramaic to reflect the original language of the decrees and events."

What he doesn't tell you is Hebrew OT that he is talking about was written centuries after False Messiah Bar Kokhba revived Hebrew with massive influences from Aramaic and some from Greek.

Aramaic Old Testament (Genesis to Malachi) became Old testament used by Hebrews around 400 BC. Old Hebrew OT was used only by Hebrew Priests at Jerusalem.

Hebrew OT Frank Luke is talking about was an extremely corrupt OT which was translated from Aramaic OT which was used in first century Israel and early second century Israel prior to Bar Kokhba revolt (132-135 AD). It is possible that  Hebrew OT could have been also translated from Septuagint.

Here is the link to the details about Hebrew OT - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Hebrew_Old_Testament

Aramaic OT is also known as Aramaic Peshitta Tanakh and it corrects so many errors in Hebrew OT.

Here is the link to Aramaic OT and how it corrects many errors in Hebrew OT - https://right.orain.org/wiki/Peshitta_Tanakh

What Frank Luke did with his article was he applied Talmudic double talk to promote Jewish Hebrew Deception among Christians.

The purpose with this long article is to show Jewish Hebrew deception which has been going for centuries in order to hide the truth. Many pastors such as Frank Luke, Doug Hamp, Nehemiah Gordon, etc. work for promoting Jewish Hebrew deception and many innocent Christians fall into their trap.
